This video was inspired by articles discussing the efficacy of torture in the War on Terror.
Prominent lawyer Alan Derschowitz suggested that 'sterilized needles under the fingernails'

could be an acceptable method of obtaining information while Dick Cheney talked about going

over to the 'dark side'.
Methods such as these were being openly discussed in polite society, and in the pages of

respectable journals.
